Key experience/involvement

Walter has a Civil Engineering S4 from Tshwane University of Technology. He has 12 years’ experience as a civil technician in infrastructure service and roads construction.

Walter did his in-service training with Hillary Construction as a civil technician where he learnt in situ box culverts construction, laying of pipe culverts, reinforcement steel fixing and the record keeping of all plant activities.

After completing his in-service training he went back to school. While studying, he joined Hillary Construction working as a structural foreman, where he continued with concrete works (IBC, BC and PC).

He was later appointed assistant site agent, and his responsibilities included supervising sub-contractors, preparing their payment certificates and doing general administration work.

Walter then joined Mosama Buiding Construction as a site agent responsible for constructing and repairing a canal and also replacing siphons. He then moved to the Polokwane International Airport under Mosama still as a site agent, tasked with the rehabilitation and upgrade of civil services for the new airport. This included the construction of sewer lines, water networks, paving and parking facilities.
