Key Experience/involvement

Thabiso Khumalo Nine years’ experience as a Civil Technician in Water and Sewer Reticulation Projects and as an Engineer’s Representative including site monitoring.

She started her in-services training with Modimolle Local Municipality as civil technician where she learnt setting out sewer pipe line levels, pipe laying techniques and quality control on site, keeping records of all plant and labour. After completing her in-service training she joined the Project Management Unit (PMU) of Modimolle municipality assisting the manager with documentation and Contracts Management of all projects.

She later went on to work for Magago Engineering as a Junior Technician for Kangala Turnkey Water Reticulation project, were she was supervising the Contractor, verifying  quantities on site for payment of claims, preparing and writing of weekly and monthly reports. She went back to further her studies pursuing a Bachelor of Technology degree in Water Engineering.

Thabiso joined Jamela Consulting Engineers where she was appointed as a Technician, there she learnt about tender evaluation processes, feasibility studies, quality control and site supervision and preparing payment certificates. She worked on a Rehabilitation of an irrigation canal, supervising the construction and quality control.

She then moved on to work for Bicon Consulting Engineering as Resident Engineer for Stinkwater Sewer Reticulation and Waterborne toilets.

In October 2015 she joined Makone Consulting Engineers as the Engineer’s Representative on a sewer reticulation projects.
